Garage Door Spring Replacement — Metro Vancouver
Torsion springs are what actually lift your garage door. The opener just guides it — the spring does the work. When one breaks, you will hear a loud bang and the door will either drop or become too heavy to lift. This is the most common garage door failure we see, and we carry the hardware to fix it same-day.
What We Do (and What We Do Not)
We replace springs in matched pairs using the correct wire diameter and turn count calculated for your door exact weight. We do not replace just the broken spring and leave the old one. Springs wear out together — if one snapped, the other is close. Mismatched spring tension causes uneven lift and puts stress on the opener, the cables, and the door itself.
We stock standard residential torsion springs and high-cycle springs (25,000+ cycle rated) for doors that get heavy use. If you want the high-cycle option — typically worth it for an attached garage with a door used 6-10 times daily — ask when you call.
DIY Warning
Garage door springs are under several hundred pounds of stored tension. A spring that releases uncontrolled can cause serious injury. This is not a repair to attempt without the right winding bars, safety knowledge, and experience with the specific spring type on your door.
