Check the antenna wire on the opener motor
The opener unit has a thin wire antenna that hangs down from the motor housing. If that wire is cut, pinched, or pushed up against metal framing, the remote signal never reaches the receiver. I see this after insulation jobs or when boxes get stacked too close to the ceiling. A quick visual check takes thirty seconds and saves a service call.
Also verify the remote battery is fresh and the LED on the remote flashes when you press the button. If the light works but the door still ignores it, try reprogramming the remote to the opener. The steps are in the manual, but if the opener has lost its memory or the logic board is failing, the wall button will still work because it’s hardwired.
