Up & Down Garage Doors is a residential garage door repair and installation company based in Richmond, BC, serving Metro Vancouver. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it. We handle personal information in accordance with Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to give us. Through this website that means:
- Your name, phone number, and email address, when you submit a booking or contact form
- Your service address, when you book a repair or installation — we need it to send a technician
- What you tell us about the problem: door type, symptoms, preferred appointment time
- Standard web server information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you visited
We do not collect payment card details through this website. Payment is handled in person or through a separate invoice at the time of service.
Why we collect it
To respond to your enquiry, schedule and complete the work, send you a quote or invoice, and follow up about warranty on work we have done. That is the whole list. We do not sell your information, and we do not rent or trade our customer list.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only:
- With the technician assigned to your job, so they can reach you and find the address
- With service providers who run our email, scheduling, and website infrastructure, and only to the extent they need it to provide that service
- Where we are required to by law
Marketing
If we send you anything promotional, it will be because you asked for it, and every message will have a way to unsubscribe. Booking a repair does not sign you up for marketing.
Cookies and analytics
This site uses cookies that are needed for pages and forms to work correctly. We may also use analytics to understand which pages people find useful — that data is aggregated and is not used to identify you personally. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, though the booking form may not remember your details.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not turn into a job are kept only as long as we need them to follow up, then deleted. Records connected to actual work performed are kept as long as needed for warranty, tax, and accounting purposes.
Keeping it secure
This website is served over HTTPS. Access to customer records is limited to the people who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you give us.
Your rights
