What Counts as an Emergency
- Door will not open and your vehicle is inside
- Door will not close — your home is unsecured
- Spring snapped (loud bang, door suddenly heavy or stuck)
- Cable snapped on one side — door is hanging at an angle
- Door came off the track
What to Do While You Wait
If the spring or cable snapped, leave the door where it is. Do not try to manually lift a door with a broken spring — they are heavy and the geometry is unpredictable without the spring doing its job. Pull the red emergency cord if you need to disengage the opener, but do not try to operate the door manually without knowing what failed.
If the door is stuck open and your home is exposed: get the kids inside, leave a vehicle parked in front of the opening if you need to leave, and we will be there as fast as we can.

Are you genuinely available overnight and on holidays?
Yes. We answer and dispatch 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including BC statutory holidays. If you call at three in the morning you will get a person rather than a voicemail box that gets checked when the office opens.
What actually counts as an emergency call?
Anything that leaves your home insecure or your vehicle trapped. The common ones are a door stuck fully open overnight, a door that has come off its track, a snapped spring blocking the only exit, and a car that cannot get out for work in the morning. A noisy door that still operates can safely wait for a normal booking.
What should I do while I wait for the technician?
If the door is stuck open, move anything valuable out of the garage and out of sight. Do not pull the emergency release cord while the door is part-way open, because on a door with a failed spring that removes the last thing holding the weight. Keep people and cars out from under the door.
Does an after-hours call cost more than a daytime visit?
There is an after-hours surcharge, and we tell you what it is on the phone before we dispatch anyone. You will never find it added to the invoice as a surprise once the work is done.
Can you make the door safe tonight and finish the job later?
Often, yes. If the part your door needs is not on the truck at two in the morning, we can usually secure the opening so the house is not left open, then come back with the correct part at a normal hour. We will tell you upfront which of the two we are doing.
