What Counts as an Emergency

What to Do While You Wait
If the spring or cable snapped, leave the door where it is. Do not try to manually lift a door with a broken spring, they are heavy and the geometry is unpredictable without the spring doing its job. Pull the red emergency cord if you need to disengage the opener, but do not try to operate the door manually without knowing what failed.
If the door is stuck open and your home is exposed: get the kids inside, leave a vehicle parked in front of the opening if you need to leave, and we will be there as fast as we can.
How an Emergency Garage Door Repair Call Works

- We ask three questions: what happened (a bang, a hanging door, a door off its track), whether the door is stuck open or shut, and whether a vehicle or a person is trapped.
- You get the price before anyone drives out, including the after-hours charge if it applies, and a realistic arrival time.
- On arrival we secure the door first so nobody gets hurt and the house is closed up.
- Then we repair it, or make it safe and come back with the right part at a normal hour. We tell you which one before we start.
- We test the door through full cycles, check the opener's auto-reverse and show you what failed.
What We Carry on the Truck
Most emergency garage door repair calls are solved on the first visit because the common failure parts travel with us: torsion springs in the common wire sizes, lift cables, cable drums, bottom brackets, rollers, hinges, track sections and the usual opener parts such as gears, sensors and logic boards for the models we install. If your door needs something unusual, such as a long spring for a tall door or a panel, we secure the opening tonight and order the part.
Make It Safe Tonight, or Fix It Tonight
Some failures are fixed on the spot. A broken spring, a snapped cable or a door off its track usually is. Others are better handled in two steps. A crushed panel or a bent section of track may need a part we have to order. In that case we lock the door down so it cannot fall or drift open, disconnect the opener if it is a hazard, and book the return visit with you before we leave. You are never left with a door that is half-fixed and unsafe.
