Frequency alone does not guarantee compatibility — the code generation must match. Use the opener’s learn-button color to select the correct accessory:
Green (390 MHz Billion Code) — 1993–1997. Requires Green-compatible remotes.
Red/Orange (390 MHz Security+ 1.0) — 1997–2005. Not interchangeable with Green despite same frequency.
Purple (315 MHz Security+ 1.0) — 2005–2011. Only 315 MHz legacy tier; most common mismatch source.
Yellow (310/315/390 tri-band Security+ 2.0) — 2011–present. Works with EV-series and myQ accessories.
