Where the MGH Fits
The MGH is specified for the heaviest doors in the Manaras range — large industrial rolling steel and sectional doors that demand continuous-duty performance. The availability of TEFC and TENV motors on 2 to 3 HP models makes this operator the correct choice for dusty, damp, or wash-down environments where an open drip proof motor would not survive. If you are replacing an existing MGH, matching the sprocket and chain to the current drive shaft is part of the installation scope.
What Fails and How We Repair It
Oil bath discipline is the same as on the OGH: correct level, clean oil, and a clear air breather prevent premature wear. On totally enclosed motor variants, we verify the enclosure is actually sealed — a cracked housing on a TEFC or TENV motor in a wash-down bay defeats the protection it was specified for. With #60 chain builds, we confirm the replacement chain and sprocket match what is physically fitted rather than relying on the base specification. Our technicians carry common wear items and can diagnose brake solenoid issues, hoist cut-out switches, and motor enclosure integrity on site.
Choosing Between Models
The MGT is the trolley version of this platform; the MGSL is built for sliding doors. If you are unsure which unit you have, the model code on the operator housing data plate tells the story. Note the voltage, phase, and approximate daily cycle count — those three facts decide most of what we bring to a service call.
Parts and Accessories
Manaras publishes a full accessory range that pairs with the MGH: monitored and non-monitored photoelectric cells, light curtains, electric and pneumatic sensing edges, interface modules, push-button and key switch control stations, pull switches, keypads, card readers, radio receivers and transmitters, and traffic light kits. One point that causes repeated confusion: on a UL 325 monitored circuit, a failed safety device makes the operator refuse to close. That is correct behaviour, not a malfunction. A door that suddenly will not close, with no other symptom, is very often a photo eye or sensing edge that has failed or drifted out of alignment. We stock common wear items for the Opera line and can source replacement components quickly.
