Every current Manaras commercial operator runs on the ECB BOARD 070 microprocessor. Up and Down Garage Doors stocks, programs, and replaces these boards — plus the MIC internet module that adds smartphone operation — across Metro Vancouver from our Richmond shop.
Manaras Board 070 Mic Internet Control — Board 070 Variants & Key Specifications

| Model | Trim | Monitored Safety Input | Typical Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| BOARD 070M | Monitored (current standard) | Yes — ANSI/CAN/UL 325:2017 | New installs & MIC-ready upgrades |
| BOARD 070E | Legacy | No | Replacement on older non-monitored operators |
Both trims share the same factory-programmed microprocessor with separated power and control boards linked by a one-way quick-connect socket. On-board features include a rolling-code radio receiver (1 or 3-channel modes), non-volatile memory, 2 A fused 24 V accessory supply, heavy-duty relays, rotary mode dial, plug-in limit and radio sockets, and built-in open/close/stop test buttons. Diagnostic LEDs report fault states in real time.
Protective Logic Built Into the Board
- Monitored protection input for photo eyes, safety edges, and curtains
- Reverse wiring detection — stops the door if travel direction disagrees with limit settings
- Centrifugal switch detection — confirms motor stop before reversing; 1.5 s delay-on-reverse
- Door lock sensor — releases tension on engaged locks; with a calibrated clutch can flag unbalanced doors or broken springs
- Advance Close System (patented) — disables entrapment detection just before the floor
- Programmable maximum run timer, timer-to-close, and mid-stop position
Manaras Internet Control (MIC) — Smartphone Operation
The MIC001 module plugs into a BOARD 070M and pairs with the free iOS/Android app for open/close control, real-time push alerts, and per-user access sharing (temporary or permanent). A warning signal and flashing light activate before any remote-commanded close.
Requirements
- 2 GHz Wi-Fi network
- Monitored “M”-type operator
- Monitored photoelectric cells
- ECB BOARD 070M with integrated MIC Wi-Fi software
One MIC device per operator; the app monitors multiple doors on a single screen.
Retrofit Kits for Existing Operators
| Kit | For Operator Type | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| MODKITMIC001A | “M”-type with monitored photo eyes | MIC001 only |
| MODKITMIC001B / C / D | Older “E”-type | MIC001 + BOARD 070M + monitored photo eyes (NEMA 1 PHOTO070 or NEMA 4X PHOTO061) |
Because the kits bundle the compliance hardware, nearly any serviceable Manaras operator in a building can be upgraded to smartphone control.
What Fails — And What Looks Like a Failure But Isn’t
Genuine board failures do happen — voltage spikes can overcome the built-in transient protection, which is why the power/control separation exists. However, most “bad board” service calls turn out to be the board correctly refusing to run:
- Monitored safety device fault (door won’t close)
- Reverse wiring detection on a new install
- Engaged interlock
- Tripped 24 V accessory fuse
The diagnostic LEDs distinguish each of these states. A key point: on a UL 325 monitored circuit, a failed safety device makes the operator refuse to close — the board is doing its job.
Choosing the Right Board or Kit
- New installation or full modernization → BOARD 070M (monitored standard)
- Direct replacement on a legacy non-monitored operator → BOARD 070E
- Adding smartphone control to an “M”-type with monitored eyes → MODKITMIC001A
- Adding smartphone control to an “E”-type → MODKITMIC001B/C/D (includes board + monitored eyes)
Accessories are trim-specific; we verify compatibility before shipping or installing anything.
