The OTH is the base heavy-duty trolley for standard-lift sectional doors where headroom is limited. The OTBH adds an electrically activated drum-band solenoid brake to hold the door after the motor stops. Both share the same core drive train and limit system.

Item Detail
Motor 60 Hz high starting torque, continuous-duty; 1-phase capacitor start or 3-phase, open drip proof, overload protected. 50 Hz 220 V 1-phase and 380 V 3-phase available.
Reduction 5L/B V-belt first step; additional step by #41 chain and sprockets. 5/8″ input shaft in precision ball bearings.
Drive Chain #48 (#410) full roller chain on 1/2 HP; #41 chain on 3/4 and 1 HP.
Track Dual 12-gauge pre-drilled galvanized tracks for doors up to 12 ft; longer tracks available.
Brake OTH: none. OTBH: electrically activated drum-band solenoid brake.
Manual Operation Quick-release disconnect arm for manual push-up operation.
Limit System Rotary oil-impregnated steel cams, commercial-grade switches, self-lubricating bronze bushings. Stays in time through manual operation and after motor removal.
Duty Rating Heavy duty, continuous-duty motor — the step up from the OMT series.

Typical Applications

These trolleys suit industrial standard-lift sectional doors in tight headroom conditions. Choose the OTBH when door weight is high or where a drifting door would create a safety hazard — the drum-band brake locks the drive train the moment power is cut. The OTH fits lighter doors where drift is not a concern.

What Fails & How We Repair It

  • OTBH brake wear: Coil or pawl fatigue shows up as door drift after the operator stops. We replace the worn brake components and verify holding torque on site.
  • Quick-release disconnect arm: A frequent false alarm — if left disengaged, the motor runs but the carriage does not move. We check this first on every service call.
  • Limit system: The rotary cam assembly is a strength; it stays synchronized through manual operation and even with the motor removed. A door stopping in the wrong position usually needs only cam resetting, not part replacement.
  • Repeat drift: Often traces back to the door itself — binding track, worn rollers, or springs out of balance. We inspect the full door system, not just the operator.

Choosing Between Models

The A.00 apartment variants of both models are built for high-cycle strata parkade duty. If you are unsure which unit you have, check the data plate on the operator housing for the model code, voltage, phase, and approximate daily cycle count. Those three details determine most of what we bring to a service call.

Parts & Accessories

Manaras offers a full accessory range for these operators: monitored and non-monitored photoelectric cells, light curtains, electric and pneumatic sensing edges, interface modules, push-button and key-switch control stations, pull switches, keypads, card readers, radio receivers and transmitters, and traffic light kits. On UL 325 monitored circuits, device compatibility must be verified — we confirm the correct pairing during specification or retrofit.
